Go Off The Beaten Path With Ember RV’s Overland Trailers
The RV industry is full of long-standing companies and familiar names. Names like Winnebago and Airstream are synonymous with the RV lifestyle. But new companies are emerging, and they have a lot to offer. Ember RV is fairly new to the scene, but their new overland trailers are a promising start.
Ember RV was founded by professionals who have decades of combined experience. Their mission statement is to create better RVs by creating a better RV company. Although there are plenty of roadworthy campers on the market, overland RVs are more difficult to create. They need to be tough enough to withstand bumpy roads and variable conditions.
With their new collection of overland trailers, there’s no limit to where you can go. There’s a wide variety of floor plans to explore, plus a collection of larger or smaller vehicles if you need something specific. Ember RV might be a young company, but their products speak for themselves. Let’s take a closer look at the new offerings!
Overland Series
The Overland Series is the featured lineup of Ember RV. These travel trailers are quite compact, with most of them measuring less than 26 feet long. But they’re designed for off-road adventures! The interiors are comfortable, while the exterior is sturdy and strong.
Customers can also choose from a wide variety of floor plans. Some models can accommodate two people, while others can sleep up to eight without any issue. No matter where you’re going or how many people you’re traveling with, there’s bound to be something in the Overland Series that fits your needs.
Let’s take a closer look at the various floor plans so you can determine which one would work best for you!
170MBH
- Exterior length: 20 feet, 6 inches
- Unladen vehicle weight: 4,190 lbs.
- Hitch weight: 650 lbs.
- MSRP: $54,378
First up, we have one of the smallest trailers on the list. It’s just over 20 feet long and doesn’t include any slideouts. However, it’s still cozy and comfortable, plus it can sleep up to six people! This model includes a queen-size Murphy bed, as well as a set of bunk beds in the back. To create more walking space, there’s also a removable table next to the jackknife sofa.
170MRB
- Exterior length: 20 feet, 6 inches
- Unladen vehicle weight: 4,180 lbs.
- Hitch weight: 630 lbs.
- MSRP: $55,378
The next design has a similar size and base structure, but the interior layout is quite different. As a common point, they both have a Murphy bed at the front of the vehicle. The rest of the main space is split between a kitchen on one wall and a jackknife sofa and table on the other. It’s the perfect place to cook, work, or just relax. Finally, there’s a large bathroom at the very back. It spans the main width of the trailer.
171FB
- Exterior length: 20 feet, 6 inches
- Unladen vehicle weight: 4,165 lbs.
- Hitch weight: 570 lbs.
- MSRP: $56,722
This is the first trailer on the list with a slide-out! This expands the floor plan and provides additional walking space. A permanent queen bed sits in the front section, and it connects to a similar living room/kitchen combo. The slide-out in this section holds the sofa, the removable table, and a large overhead storage cabinet. A corner bathroom completes the layout.
190MDB
- Exterior length: 22 feet, 6 inches
- Unladen vehicle weight: 4,385 lbs.
- Hitch weight: 580 lbs.
- MSRP: $58,941
The 190MDB is a bit larger than any of the previous models. As such, there’s additional space for a larger kitchen, bathroom, and living room. This trailer also has a Murphy bed at the front and a pair of bunks at the rear. The lower bunk can even fold back for additional storage space.
190MSL
- Exterior length: 22 feet, 6 inches
- Unladen vehicle weight: 4,560 lbs.
- Hitch weight: 565 lbs.
- MSRP: $58,378
The layout of this trailer is nearly identical to the 190 MDB, but there’s extra storage space instead of bunk beds. The space is now a large walk-in storage locker. Bunks can be added if the customer chooses, but it’s also a great space for camping gear and other bulky items.
191MDB
- Exterior length: 22 feet, 6 inches
- Unladen vehicle weight: 4,780 lbs.
- Hitch weight: 680 lbs.
- MSRP: $61,222
Even though this floor plan is quite similar to the others, the addition of a slide-out makes a big difference. The slide-out is located in the main living room, and it contains a large booth-style dinette. With the addition of the Murphy bed and bunks, this vehicle can sleep eight people!
191MSL
- Exterior length: 22 feet, 6 inches
- Unladen vehicle weight: 4,505 lbs.
- Hitch weight: 605 lbs.
- MSRP: $60,691
The 191MSL is another floor plan with a storage locker. If you need plenty of cargo space, this is a fantastic option! It also has a slideout, which contains a jackknife sofa and table. The storage area also includes a special repositionable bunk/storage system that was developed by Ember RV.
201FBQ
- Exterior length: 24 feet, 1 inch
- Unladen vehicle weight: 5,255 lbs.
- Hitch weight: 605 lbs.
- MSRP: $62,628
Now, we’re getting to the largest trailers on the list. This one includes a larger bedroom with a queen-size bed and a pair of nightstands. It connects to a living room, which is expanded by a slideout. There’s room for a spacious pantry, a hidden wardrobe, and all the appliances you need. A corner bathroom completes the design.
221MDB
- Exterior length: 26 feet, 1 inch
- Unladen vehicle weight: 5,690 lbs.
- Hitch weight: 620 lbs.
- MSRP: $66,409
The 221MDB is great for traveling with family and large groups. It has a pair of large bunk beds, a couple of jackknife sofas, and plenty of storage space. It also comes with a large slideout to create extra space. Finally, there’s an exterior kitchen with an extra fridge, griddle, and more.
221MSL
- Exterior length: 26 feet, 1 inch
- Unladen vehicle weight: 5,680 lbs.
- Hitch weight: 655 lbs.
- MSRP: $66,090
The final floor plan option is the 221MSL. Once again, it’s a similar design to the bunkhouse model above, but it has a storage locker instead. You’ll have room for storage, sleeping, and everyday activities in a trailer like this.
Overland Micro Series
The vehicles above are all part of the Overland series collection. They’re mid-sized trailers that have a decent amount of living space. But some adventurers want a camper that’s even smaller. That’s where the Overland Micro Series comes into play!
These are tiny, compact trailers that are easy for just about any vehicle to tow. They’re also built for off-road excursions. At the moment, there are only two designs for these vehicles, but they’re very effective for camping trips.
The interior includes a futon sofa, a small table, a wardrobe, and some overhead storage compartments. The rear opens up and can either contain a compact kitchenette or a spacious storage locker. They’re also equipped with lots of the same features and technology as the larger models, so you can enjoy a certain level of comfort while you travel.
Touring Edition by Ember RV
While the Micro Series is quite small, the Touring Edition is larger and more complex. They’re also different because they’re not specifically designed for off-roading. These vehicles are sturdy and well-built, but they’re better suited for life on paved roads.
There are several floor plans under this banner, but we’re more focused on the overland vehicles today. But all the models include one slideout, a full bathroom, a kitchenette, a queen-size bed, and plenty of storage. Some designs also include bunk beds, various dinette styles, and convertible bedding options.
These trailers are comfortable and well-designed, so you can count on them for long trips. If you want to learn more about them and compare the different floor plans, visit emberrv.com.
