The Pebble Flow: A New Electric Camper

Many RV manufacturers are interested in the potential of an electric RV. Although a fully-self-sustaining electric camper hasn’t been created yet, the Pebble Camper is a promising step in that direction. This new travel trailer will be publicly unveiled at the LA Auto Show on November 17-26, 2023.

This new camper (known as the Pebble Flow) is packed with fascinating features. It truly looks like an RV of the future, complete with a sleek profile and more gadgets and tech than you can imagine. Pebble was created to remove some common pain points in the RV lifestyle, such as campground setup, towing hassles, and limited power when you’re camping off-grid.

The Pebble Flow is an exciting new development in the field of electric vehicles. The new models are pricey, but you can pre-order one today if you want to get in on the ground floor of this RV revolution. Below, we’ll take a closer look at these innovative campers. Read on to learn more!

What makes it different?

“At Pebble, we are automating the hardest parts of the RV experience with the same technologies that power the most advanced automotive innovations, making the whole experience simply effortless and magical. If you know how to use an iPhone, you’ll be comfortable using our product.”

Bingrui Yang, Pebble CEO

A Pebble camper is unlike anything you’ve seen before. The vehicle looks like a sci-fi prototype more than a real trailer you could take into the woods! But they will be ready to hit the road in 2024.

The flagship Pebble product is known as the Pebble Flow. This is a travel trailer that can accommodate up to four passengers at once. It comes in a choice of three exterior colors: orange, warm gray, and powder blue. It’s an all-electric vehicle that can be charged by a variety of sources. Traditional campground hookups work just fine, but you can also use an EV charger at your house.

It also has solar panels, as well as a powerful inverter and battery so it can produce its own electricity when camping off-grid. In fact, this system is so efficient that you can camp for up to seven days, solely relying on the RV’s solar power.

Floor plan + key features

The floor plan is also sleek, modern, and comfortable. At the front of the layout, there’s a dinette and Murphy bed combo. It’s the perfect spot to eat meals and relax, and it can turn into an additional sleeping space at the end of the day.

Next up, there’s a hallway that leads to the back of the trailer. On one side of this hall, there’s a chef’s kitchen. This includes a 4-in-1 microwave oven, a full-sized refrigerator, a deep sink, and plenty of cabinets above and below. The kitchen can also expand to the great outdoors, thanks to the removable cooktop and the large window that opens up, making it easy to pass food in and out!

The bathroom sits across from the kitchen. This space has glass walls, which can switch from opaque to transparent with the touch of a button. It has bright, warm LED lights, a shower, and a macerating toilet.

The rear of this Pebble camper is an adaptable space that can either act as the main bedroom or a home office! It can turn into a queen-size bed or fold up against the walls to make a nice open space, complete with a desk, several outlets, and Starlink internet connectivity.

Towing the Pebble Flow

Most RVers will agree that towing is one of the worst parts of the whole gig. It’s a nightmare to get the hitch properly lined up and connected. Plus, once you’re on the road, the trailer will slow you down and can lead to trailer sway, fuel inefficiency, and more.

But what if I told you that the Pebble Flow was designed to solve all of these problems? It might sound impossible because these issues are the natural result of towing a heavy vehicle. But the Pebble camper founders went above and beyond to create a great customer experience.

Magic Hitch

For starters, there’s the Magic Hitch. Each camper is equipped with advanced technology and programming (almost as much as a self-driving car). As such, it has the ability to sense the tow vehicle hitch, line itself up, and connect all on its own. It sounds too good to be true, but it really is as easy as that.

Remote control parking

Backing up and parking with a travel trailer is also a difficult process. You have probably wished on more than one occasion that you could just move the trailer by itself without dealing with the weird angles of a car hitch. Once again, the Pebble team has your back!

Each Pebble Flow trailer comes with remote control technology. Once you reach your campsite, you can unhitch your tow vehicle and maneuver the camper into the correct position. It has a dual-motor drivetrain that enables it to make tight turns without issue.

Easy tow technology

Finally, you can easily drive with a Pebble camper in tow. In addition to their streamlined profile, these vehicles are equipped with an Active Propulsion Assist System that enables them to propel their own weight. This reduces strain on your tow vehicle, especially when it comes to steep grades and windy conditions. If you’re towing with an electric vehicle, this technology also helps extend your travel range!

Camping at home or off-grid

Like every RV, the Pebble Flow is made for traveling. But as a bonus, it can also be used when it’s parked at your home! This living space can become a natural extension of your everyday life, whether you’re exploring new locations or safe at home.

Off-grid camping

As mentioned above, each Pebble camper can generate its own power if there’s not an electrical hookup nearby. There are solar panels on the roof, and these can activate when you’re driving or parked, so you never have to waste an hour of sunlight.

If you love boondocking, this trailer could be the perfect fit for you. You’ll be able to camp off-grid for up to a week at a time. The vehicle battery can also be used to power other devices thanks to its 240V AC output. You can even charge an electric vehicle with a battery like this!

In addition, campground setup has never been easier. Pebble has developed the InstaCamp system, which fully automated several features. Once you park, you just need to activate this feature and watch the magic happen.

With InstaCamp, your trailer will automatically deploy leveling jacks, lower the staircase, extend the awning, unlock the door, and create the perfect interior temperature. The whole thing is ready to go within minutes, and you don’t have to do anything.

Use it at home

Of course this trailer is great for camping, but you don’t have to stick it in storage once you arrive back at home. The space is so clean and comfortable that you may want to use it all year round!

Thanks to its battery and solar power, you can use this as a back-up charger if the power in your home ever goes out. It can also be a nice place to get out of the house and enjoy some privacy.

It can be a home office, a bonus room, a place for guests to sleep, or even an Airbnb! You can make some extra money by renting out this space to travelers.

The Pebble App

All of the advanced features like the remote control parking and InstaCamp can be operated by the Pebble App. This is a user-friendly app that can adjust the temperature, lights, and much more. It also monitors your systems, such as the battery charge and water tank levels.

It’s an all-in-one app that gives you full control over your Pebble camper. You can learn more about how it works at pebblelife.com.

Pre-order is now available

If you’re interested in claiming one of the new Pebble Flow models for yourself, you can put in an order today. The cost starts at $109,000, but many of the upgraded features are included in the Magic Pack. This is an upgrade and costs $125,000 overall.

Pebble anticipates a large amount of pre-orders, so you will need to pay a $500 deposit to claim your spot in line. This charge is fully refundable, so you don’t have to make any solid commitments now. The company estimates that all new models should be shipped by the end of 2024, so the RV revolution is right around the corner.
