The camera appears to test great, I will update in a year or so if I’m still using and liking it. Install was not bad, but still took about 45 minutes. There were some screws that were tough to get to without removing the camera for the mount, and the screws are a very soft metal, but other than that, it went great! Everything lined up and all hardware needed was provided. There is just a little figuring out to be done since the instructions for install leave a bit to be desired. The video is great and connected right up when turned on.

The quality of the product is excellent and like others have noted, it includes everything needed for installation. Instructions are not great but it is so easy to install that you likely won't need instructions. The YouTube video mentioned in the instructions is a must if you want to use more than one camera.

I ended up cutting the monitor bracket so it would fit in the dash cutout on my Ram 2500 and I could not be more happy with the custom looking install. I also hard-wired the camera to the lighter rather than having the power cord dangling on my dash. My camper is a 34' Toy Hauler and I mounted the camera under the bumper and tapped into the license plate light. This means I have to tow with my lights on but I usually do that anyway and I did not want to drill into any paneling. Even being mounted that low, the picture quality is superb with the small antennas provided and it seriously only took 15 minutes to install the camera.

Customer service is excellent. Just like the description states, if you need a windshield mount, Furrion adapter or a second camera, just email them and ask. I have already received the Furrion adapter and windshield mount. The second camera and another monitor bracket (since I cut mine in half & would like a backup in case I decide to change where it is mounted) are on their way to me now.

Based on reviews I was expecting a decent product but it has greatly exceeded my expectations. The picture quality is seriously excellent and I am very impressed with the overall craftsmanship of the entire kit. The added benefit on SD card support for recording is another bonus and I will likely use the 2nd camera as a dash camera if I can find a discrete location to mount it. Do not hesitate to purchase this kit. Based on my experience with the company, I have no doubt they would quickly refund your purchase price if you are not satisfied, however, if yours works like mine, I'm skeptical that would happen.

Since it has been three years since I installed this system I figured I would give an update and say that it is still working flawlessly. I have not had a single problem with this system and would still give it 5 stars today. I will note that the product pictures today appear to be slightly different than what I have. I assume that is just a design change so as long as the underlying hardware and software are unchanged, this should still be a very solid purchase.

This is my last update for this product because I recently swapped out my stock head unit/radio with an aftermarket system which prevents me from using this product due to how I had it mounted (essentially, I can no longer mount the monitor directly above my head unit & I don't want this large monitor attached to my windshield) so, I will no longer be using this unit.

With that said, I just wanted to point out that I used this unit for just shy of 4-years and never had a single issue, it was still working perfectly when I removed it. I plan to box this up 'just in case' or maybe even give it to someone I know who may need it since this unit has been great. I am not getting rid of it because of any issues, I am only getting away from it because I wanted a different head unit.

I lied when I said I was done posting updates for this product. The replacement I had planned for this didn't work out as expected so I am still using this awesome backup camera. IMO this unit does not work well with a windshield mount since, due to the size, it inevitably ends up being very much in your field of vision. Therefore, I used two magnetic cell phone mounts to install this directly onto my dash, which also allows me to simply toss it on the dash when needed and stow it in my console when not needed. I used these magnets (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JFGJMJW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1) which are working very well (metal disks attached to the dash and magnets attached to the base of the camera). Because I had already hard wired my camera, I routed the wiring into my glove box where it is out of sight when not in use then, when needed I just pull it out and have a short run to the camera, while the glove box still easily closes on the wire.

Anyway, two points I am making. One, this camera continues to perform perfectly and two, be willing to think outside the box when it comes to mounting solutions since the supplied mounts just may not work well for your application.

This DoHonest camera and monitor package was a very easy setup, and many extra accessories and brackets were included to accommodate different wiring scenarios. The picture quality is very good, even in low light situations. There is only a little bit of glare when the sun is directly hitting it. We love that it allows us in real time, all the time, to see what's behind us as we are driving, not just for when backing up. We have been using this camera for the last 4 months on many rv trips, and we are still very pleased with it. The price was also very reasonable. On a side note, we bought a telescoping cup holder mount that is used for tablets and it works perfectly to secure the monitor, so we do not have to mount this on the dashboard using tape or screws.

I purchased this system to replace a Furrion camera that had a fogged lens due to moisture. A replacement camera only from Furrion was almost $300.

TLDR; The system will satisfy requirements for an inexpensive backup camera well enough.

The system included cables and a nice adapter to allow testing the camera and display before installation. The display and camera worked flawlessly while testing. Having that ability is definitely a nice touch.

The installation manual itself is not that helpful. It doesn't describe camera installation at all-- you have to figure it out. There are YouTube videos that help. The manufacturer's videos have good descriptions of the menus and configurations, but you'll have to search to find other videos with physical installation of the camera. The pamphlet included does have enough detail for basic testing and configuration.

Installation of the camera wasn't too hard, though the power adapter plug for Furrion didn't work. I am somewhat mechanical and have done automotive wiring. The installation may or may not be harder for you.

I'm not sure if it was the reversed polarity that some reviewers mentioned or the incomplete connection requiring shaving the connector down. I just cut the connectors off and wired it directly using some wire nuts. The "Adapter" for the camera is just a plate that goes on the front of the Furrion mount. The camera still requires a fairly large bracket on top of the plate. Pro-tip: Mount the bracket on the plate without the camera before you mount the plate. They provide small bolts to mount the bracket, but you have to be able to reach the back of the bracket.

Once the power was working, there was no issue with the camera or display. My camper is 37 feet long, and the truck adds another 15 feet or so, but there was no issue with connectivity or dropped signal. The camera and display are very clear. Of course, only a 7-inch monitor, so you don't really need the advertised HD quality. The camera was automatically recognized and it was easy to add the guide lines for backing using the menus. The sunshade (already mounted) does help seeing the display in sunshine as well. The lighter adapter and the bit of cable on the monitor were long enough that I didn't need to use any of the testing cable for the installation.

I have two issues with the camera as it stands. The first is the angle of the lens. Using it as a backup camera at close range is acceptable. I adjusted the angle of the camera so that my spare tire carrier (on the back bumper) was just barely visible on the bottom of the screen. That gives a view of about 10-12 feet behind the trailer. That's okay, but definitely not as good as the Furrion camera that I replaced. With the Furrion, it had a wide angle lens that let me see the bumper and still see 50-60 feet behind the camera.

The second issue is that the refresh is fairly slow. The transmission delay is enough that the signal is useless at highway speeds. With the short distance the camera sees, the field of view can't keep up with reality. I had one car come up closely after a stop light this past weekend. It was already beside me before the camera showed it pulling up to my bumper.

I'm hoping to solve both problems with a second camera. I will use one camera, pointed more straight back as a rear view camera while driving and the downward pointing camera strictly as a backup camera. That wouldn't be necessary if the camera had a bit wider angle lens, but it doesn't. The manual says there is a promotional second camera... I guess I will see. It's been two weeks and so far my email has gone unanswered.

Overall, this is a good value. You will get what you pay for, but it may be lacking if you are comparing it to more expensive systems. The cost makes it a decent risk. The system is advertised with a two-year warranty. Hopefully I won't have to test the warranty response or customer service for any other issues. As it stands today, I would buy it again.
