Casoda Latest HD1080P WiFi Wireless Backup Camera for iPhone and Android, Ultra Strong Signal Smooth Video, Crystal Clear Picture, Suitable for Car SUV Pickup (Mini for car SUV Pickup Sedan)

I have been using this camera for just a few weeks and so far, I can say that this is an excellent product. I am using it as a rear-view camera on my motorcycle and here are my observations so far:

1. Easy to install, even on vehicles that the product has not been designed for, I assume 🙂
2. Very clear, high-quality picture. Video is super smooth, and I haven't noticed and delays between frames. Very good night experience
3. Wide rear viewing angle, the image totally covers my blind zone.
4. Camera connects to the app automatically once paired, so I just turn on my bike and video comes shortly.
5. The most important part: fantastic customer support, you just send email to address provided in Settings-> Contact us, and you get lightning-fast replies (during business hours in China). I had some hiccups with the app in the beginning and Daniel was helping me a lot. Not just by advice, but he was making changes in the app on the fly to help identify the problem. Now I feel absolutely confident that should I have any issues with the product, those issues will be resolved quickly and with high quality.

Bottom line: highly recommend!

Viewing Angle

So, I didn’t read the details and made a mistake. This is by no means a fault of the camera but this unit has a limited range of about 15 feet for transmitting the video to your phone or tablet. I wanted to place it on the rear of my 18-wheeler trailer, a distance of about 70 feet. I did get to see the quality of the video feed at 15 feet and it is incredible! Go beyond that and the image will freeze just before the connection is lost. This particular unit is rated for passenger cars, pickups and SUVs.

If you expect to spend your hard earned money on a camera and have it work as advertised then please do not buy this. This camera is a nice little unit if it worked. I spent some time and effort installing it on a new Dodge Hellcat. The car has a very low air splitter on the front so I installed it to prevent any damage when parking. Camera worked one or two times then quit. I worked with so called "customer service" for a week or more and finally they stopped communicating with me. It is very difficult to connect to a smart phone and horrible software. I returned it and bought a "GreenYi 5G" camera, it worked first time out of the box. It had good picture and cost less.

I watched a video where someone used this and integrated it with Magic Box 2.0 for use as a front parking camera. This works perfectly if you need a camera and don't want to use your phone! I did have an issue trying to get it to work using the Casoda App, but there is another download available and it works perfectly! I am using the camera to line up with my snow plow, so I have yet to try it for the plow. The picture is clear and the angles are wide.

My 1 and only concern is that the housing is a polished metal and it does get hot. Will it be too hot? Time will tell, but for now I'm going to just run it and see. ALSO... the wires provided are really small and has a sheath that didn't allow me to reach from 1 battery terminal to the other. I found it you barely cut the sheathing and just pull the wires down, they come out pretty good. My 1st try, I just tried to cut the sheath and it ruined the wires.

To note, this is my 2nd camera. I couldn't get the 1st one to link properly, so I sent it back and they were quick to send me another one!

The camera operates via 5ghz wifi. My phone easily connected to the camera's wifi, but on average only 1 time out of 4 was able to connect the app to the camera using that wifi. I tried several combinations of starting the camera app before powering the camera itself and vice versa. Only occasionally did the app connect to the camera.
I ended up returning the camera and deleting the app.
By the way, my phone is on the list of "approved" phones for this setup, and
I connected the camera directly to a 12v wire that was run from my fuse box instead of connecting it to the backup light.

Not recommended!

I haven't decided where to use this camera yet as it can be easily mounted on the motorcycle, car, van, truck or anything that can supply 12V. This camera only needs a power source and the app in the phone to work. It is an added safety feature in any application, I just haven't decided yet where I need it most.

With the wide viewing angle it can provide a great view in the front or the back if you are driving a larger vehicle. The camera comes with USB cable or two leads for direct wiring to your battery. However, the WiFi signal to your phone will only work at around 15 feet from the camera due to its small size. If you plan on installing in the trailer or longer vehicle it may freeze and lose signal.

I had tried a few different wireless cameras for the front of my 2023 GMC Sierra and this has been the most reliable to date. Not only does this kit include all the applicable mounting options, but it also has an enhanced wireless antenna and connects at 5Ghz, a great connection for the 1080p source. The app is also very useful and includes some features that others do not and actually has recent/often updates. This is not typical with other cameras in this class. What I really LOVE is that after reaching out to the developer, they had added some really nice features, which makes this camera even better! I am very satisfied with this item and hope that in the future the camera image quality is upgraded to 2.5k. However, for using it as a front camera to see how close I am to an object, 1080p is perfect.

I tried mine and my wife’s IPhone and the camera would not connect. Followed all instructions and watched videos. I returned the camera and ordered a new one thinking it was defective but the new camera would not connect either. Sent them both back and ordered a different wifi camera.
