This was moderately easy to install and I have minimal knowledge of how to set these up. I use this is as a bridge and it’s wired into my router by POE, it sends a decent signal about 100 yards from my house to my shop through a metal door. The website listed in the materials is hard to access and the only way for customer support is via email, which is the only con so far. The directions aren’t super helpful. Thankfully I was able to get it working by myself. I will update if I I’ve any issues with it dropping signals. Mine is under a covered porch with a straight shot to the shop.

Even better than the 600. This is my 2nd WANLINK. First was a 600. It worked great for about 18 months, no complaints. You could see it on the network and showed connected bit cameras wouldn’t work. I had the Asurion insurance so cost to pay for Giftcard of purchase value. So I added a little more to it and got the JOOWIN 1200 and kept it a week but couldn’t get the setup right (even with JOOWIN support)!!! So I RETURNED it and ordered the WAVLINK AC1200. I love it!!! Had it up and running all 6 cameras in about an hour!!!

Was fairly easy to configure. However, after my first attempt at using it, I discovered that it put its own DHCP server on the local network, even though it was configured as an access point. That brought my local network down, and was my first clue the company did was not adequately testing the product before release, or just did not know what they were doing.
I contacted them and they sent a firmware update. This removed the DHCP server, so that was better. However, I also noticed that they have a recommended system reset they ask you to configure so that it reboot itself once a day. That is another indication the engineering is not good. It should not require this. Sure enough, the system is crashing every 12 – 24 hours. Resetting once a day isnt even enough to fix it, because it crashes more often that that.
This product is simply not well engineered. While it works sometimes, we need to power cycle it at least once a day manually.
Range is poor too, especially for the 5G signal. I would expect better 5G range than 2G range, but its the opposite. 5G will not go more than 50 yards line-of-site.

I have bought three of these and am pleased with the distance and reception quality. I have setup four. The setup is a little confusing sometimes and other times it goes off without a hitch. An electrical storm took one out. I’m not sure if they are going to cover that under warranty. One worked for a week and a half then would not maintain a signal. I returned it to Amazon and setup its replacement yesterday. It’s been up for 24 hours now so we’ll see. The first one I bought over a year ago, and it’s working fine. Every once in a while, it needs to be power cycled. I’m not pleased with the tech support. I called tech support for the one that failed to maintain a connection, for which I got the relplacement from Amazon. Turns out they just wanted to sell me a $120 tech support package. The grounding screw is tiny so it’s best to use a wire terminal with the round connector and connect it over a magnet tray and magnetize your screw driver or you’ll lose the screw.

I really hate to give 1 star on these units. But I am done. I have bought two of the units. The first unit has been running as a AP Mode connected directly to my Home Router for over a 1 1/2 years and has been fantastic. This unit has Wing 12m Rev A designation on the back and I have great connection to Camera 1.
The second unit I bought and setup as a Repeater is a Wing 12m Rev A1. This unit worked great for 2 months and then stopped connecting as a Repeater. I have emailed their support and they have had me jump thru hoops to keep from replacing the unit. Amazon shows these units have a 12 Month warranty and now I am requesting that the unit get replaced. We will see if the Manufacturer supports this warranty. In order to keep my Camera 2 connected I have installed a PIX-Link 300M Wireless Router in place of the WavLink AC1200 AP that I paid $20 for and it is working for me. However the PIX-Link is not an outdoor AP unit and I expect it to fail at some point (Even though I have wrapped a Zip lock bag around it) Reading other reviews I have found others that have had the same experience with the Rev A1 units failing within 2 months and unable to get a replacement under the Warranty period. So guess I am going to look at replacing this WavLink AC1200 with a TP-Link EAP225-Outdoor | Omada AC1200 Wireless Gigabit Outdoor unit.
Saga Continues: I have bumped my original rating on these units from a 1 to a 3. The company stepped up and is sending me a new unit. Expect delivery within a couple of days. Once I receive the unit and get it setup, will wait and see if the replaced unit works for more that a couple of months. If the unit continues to operate to the level of the first unit I have purchased, I will be grateful and bump the rating to a 5. But time will tell.

The instructions are much more complicated than the actual configuration process, it is completely intuitive and takes you on the right track. It was easy to make it work from my IOS phone and has been working perfectly for 8 months…

Works well but POE transformer isn’t waterproof
Reviewed in Singapore on June 12, 2023
I bought this router for my rooftop. It will get wet. It wasn’t clear to me when purchasing that the POE transformer isn’t waterproof.
I have managed to put it inside a plastic casing and the router is working well.
Muito prático
