My solar backup camera keeps going off and on with the signal saying fully charged to dead battery. Sometimes pushing the button works sometimes it don't. Already threw box away so don't know if I can still return it.

My wife has been wanting a backup camera since I got my car, so I decided to upgrade her 2011 CRV with this backup camera. The picture quality is on par with my 2020 model and has made backing up so much easier for her. Installation wasn't a walk in the park, but it wasn't so difficult that I wanted to give up. Just make sure you have plan BEFORE you start taking off pieces of your car. If you do that, you shouldn't have a problem.

The backup camera would not turn on even with 24hrs of straight charging. The screen comes on in the truck but the backup camera itself will not come on to pair it to the screen. The instructions where not very well made either.

I was unsure if the camera was good enough to use on the back of my travel trailer. My son told me he heard from several people they had a hard time getting them to work. This was also the least expensive one that I saw that came with it's own 7 inch monitor. Well I made sure it had a full charge (you can charge it as well as using the solar), put it on the back of the trailer and turned on the screen and almost instantly a nice clear picture appeared. I drove away from the trailer and it worked just fine after going at least 2 or 3 times farther away. I also haven't needed to charge it because the monitor shows the battery strength is just fine.

This backup camera is great and exactly what is advertised. The setup process could not have been more straightforward, I just connected the screen to power and instantly could see the live feed from the camera. I didn't even have to pair the camera or touch anything on the camera itself, which was an awesome experience. That being said, I feel like at this price point there should be more features. When the screen is not in use it just turns off, leaving a large black screen on the dashboard. Adding Carplay or some other feature to this product would make it much more worth it and give it a purpose all the time rather than just as a backup camera. But the simplicity is much appreciated, and it does exactly what it says it does, no more and no less.

Installing is as simple as putting on a tag bracket. The monitor mounts in the vehicle with the included bracket and is plugged into the cigarette lighter. On the head of the plug there is a switch to turn on and off the monitor to enable the rear view camera. On the tag camera, there is a solar panel to keep your backup camera charged, but there is also a spot to plug in a USB cable to charge it if need be. This is so much simpler than needing to run wires through the vehicle, mount the camera on the rear of the vehicle, and splice into a reverse light. Total install time on this unit is less than 10 minutes and it works perfectly out of the box. I did charge the camera overnight before mounting it, however.
