Very clear video
This camera shows a good picture through the app on your cell phone. I use it to back my truck up to my boat trailer. As you can see it shows a clear picture in both light and darkness and gives me a different angle on my hitch ball that allows for easier one person hook ups.The camera has an extremely strong magnet. I was never worried about it falling off while driving around but I was worried that if you were to use it and leave it someone else could come along and just take it off the truck. You can password protect the camera, which was keep others from seeing your video, but that wouldn't get the camera back.The camera can be used upright or upside down (you just need to readjust the picture through the app). The camera does have the ability to be used solely as a "back up" camera and you can even add the colored delineation lines to the video, again through the app.The app is easy to use allows you to snap photos and take videos with the camera. The camera is also rigged for sound which you can turn off and on through the app. You are able to select the length of time, in minutes, for how long you want the camera to record. The directions for camera and app use are a bit confusing but through trial and error I managed to get the camera working and use all the available options for it.When using the camera it kicks you off any wifi you happen to be using to connect to it. It is a bit annoying as you have to go into your settings and choose the correct wifi for the camera. it doesn't bring up your choices like connecting to Bluetooth.The refresh rate sometimes varies. I ended up striking my trailer with my hitch one time as the video froze while I was backing up. Since I had the tailgate camera there was no damage to my trailer, it was just surprising as it had been working so well up to the point it froze and there was no spinning wheel to show that it had stopped streaming, which is what caused me to strike the trailer.Overall I nice addition to my ability to hook up my trailer the first time instead of continually having to get out and check where the hitch is in relation to the coupler once I loose site of it under the trailer or when I have to put the truck in drive to reposition and my tailgate camera shuts off.
