I hate to totally condemn someone's product but in this case, I have to. The first unit that I ordered would not connect when the camera was more than 3 yards from the monitor, So I had to send it back. The replacement product connected but when it was in my horse trailer which was 15 feet from the monitor it had a stop-and-go feed and then the picture would completely disappear. When it came back it would be a frozen picture. This happened for 3 minutes into a journey and then it cut off altogether after 10 minutes and I lost the feed entirely. The reason I ordered this camera is I already have the MHCABSR reversing camera and I love it, so I thought this would be great as it has the monitor (the cameras look exactly the same) but this camera is not in the same league as the one I already have. The prices are almost the same, so you want my advice by the MHCABSR camera 10 times out of 10 in my opinion.

The main things I dislike about this backup camera kit are the monitor and picture quality. The monitor size is (barely) adequate, the picture is grainy and that gooseneck arrangement may work well with some models, but in my 2004 4Runner it means I have to reach around it to shift gears. But of course, this is how they kept the price so cheap.

The one positive thing I can say about this kit is that the signal is strong and steady. After receiving this item and testing it, I was so disappointed by the picture quality, tiny monitor and lack of features that I initiated a return for this one and purchased the Eway camera/4.3 inch monitor kit. However, for all the nice features the Eway kit has, some interference near my trailer makes its signal drop out, rendering it completely useless. But with this kit, the only sign of interference was that the fifth bar of the signal strength indicator flickered a bit.

One thing that differs from the product description is that this does come with a rechargeable battery. This must have been a last-minute addition, as you can still access the compartment where the original 9V battery went. The reason why this is kind of a wash, though, is that there's no LED indicator to tell you when it's fully charged, and the charge port is not something standard like a mini-USB. Nor do the instructions tell you how long it takes to charge.

I tried two different ones before I found this one. The first one only would run for 10 minutes before the battery went dead. Second one would not work from more than 8 feet. This is the real deal. No more fighting with the wife when we are hooking up the trailer. AKA James Andrew Edske

Makes matching ball with trailer hitch has become a dream. Getting connected to phone is a little weird, but works great.

Directions were horrible.and it wouldn't pair to my phone. No matter what i tried, it just didn't work. Returned it,wasn't worth the headache.
