    Great detector but be aware of the case splitting issue. Great detector but after 3 months of lite use and EXTREME care the case is splitting. This appears to be a very common issue. For almost $600 this should not happen. If the case had not split it would be 5 stars. I start the return process tomorrow. I wonder if they cross ship as I have a lot of driving to do over the next few weeks (soccer season started) and I do not want to be without it.Update: 09/17/2015 After calling Escort they told me they would replace the detector.     Great feature set, dreadful build quality and terrible customer service. When I first received my Escort Max II HD Radar Detector, I was quite excited. It looked quite nice, and had a very nice feature set. However, this product is plagued by sub-standard build quality, and with normal use (mounted onto my rearview mirror, and rarely ever moved) completely broke in half after about 12 months of use. I sold my 8500 to get this one and I made such a bad mistake.This detector looks nice, and ease to hang.Con:FALSE K ALERTS!!! everytime im on the highway my detector went off every 2 minutes for K alert.
