    Read the manual Enlarge the Garmin 51 search area. Took a while for me to learn how to use it effectively. In fact, I actually notified Amazon that I was returning it, but, after I finally figured out that the default search area consists of only 4 states near the active location,read the online manual to learn how to ENLARGE the search area,etc., then it was a pleasure to use. It uses a touch screen,but has a very sensitive screen. Double keying was a problem until I started using a rubber tipped stylus. I advise buying a CD adaptable mount, I…

    Power switch was “sketchy”. Worked well out of the box. My old NUVI 1470 failed after 5 years and (like a DOPE, I never did a backup) I was unable to transfer previously saved locations. My fault of course, but I must say that entering in new saved locations was pretty easy and allowed me to re-evaluate the priorities of my list. A “Silver Lining” I guess.I used the unit pretty much every day for 3-4 weeks, then it started acting up. On occasion, the power switch would not power up the unit for some reason. This was…
